Analytics events are the custom defined action of the user that is reported to for example Google Analytics. Events can be defined by tags. Tags are snippets of JavaScript code that define what action is tracked and how it is reported to the Google Analytics. Events can be used to track user interaction with the content of the website. Actions include clicking on links, viewing videos, opening or downloading different type of files or any other types of actions visitors can take. Events can also be used as goals and tracked independently. Event tracking is an important feature of the quantitative research.
