Information Foraging Theory

The theory dictates that humans have a built in foraging mechanism and that it has evolved to be used in gathering information rather than for gathering food. To improve the likelihood of visitors converting, the theory suggests using the equivalents of naturally occuring hunting patterns for visitors, such as ‘scent’ to lead the visitors and make feel as if they achieved a goal when they converted.
