Tracking code is randomly generated for a web property and is only used for collecting data from websites. They are for use in collecting data from mobile apps and other digital devices.

Google Analytics Tracking Code retrieves web page data when a browser requests a web page that contains the tracking code. Tracking codes are set on a site and when accessed the users computer will send information back to Google Analytics with the information that the tracking code requested.
