The goal of user testing is to identify any usability problems in order to collect qualitative and quantitative data for determining what level of customer satisfaction exists with the website.

The benefit of user testing is that it allows the developers and analyst to learn about anything that should be changed, such as if the users are not able to complete specific tasks as intended or to identify how satisfied the user is with the website in general.

User testing results are considered and applied before any improvement to the website is rolled out to market in order to increase the conversion rate on the e-commerce website.

User testing consist of recruiting random people to fill in the role of typical visitors to the website. They are typically given a frame of mind and a task to complete on the website and their behavior is recorded and analyzed.
